What A Leader Must See
By Dr John C. Maxwell
And I said to the king, “if it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers tombs, that I may rebuild it.”
Nehemiah 2:5
Leaders who navigate do more than control the direction in which they and their people travel. They see the whole trip in their minds before they leave the dock. It seems remarkable, but Nehemiah could see both the problem and the solution even though he had never visited Jerusalem.
All great leaders have uncommon vision. A leader sees…
Farther than others see. Nehemiah was able to see the problem, and he could picture the solution in his head.
More than others see. Nehemiah knew that the wall could and should be rebuilt, and he knew what it would take to do it.
Before others see. None of Jerusalem’s neighbors wanted to see the Jews rebuild their wall, and several enemy leaders conspired against Nehemiah and the people. But Nehemiah saw the danger and planned accordingly; he refused to give in to enemy plots.
I was very inspired by this because i do desire to lead for God and i'm gonna start leading cell group next month. just 2 months but i do believe, a leader have to have 1 thing...a vision.
To be long sighted enough to see the future...what do i wish to achieve? to make strong and loud disciples that will shine for God would be my answer to this... and to be short sighted enough to see....the present. who are the people i am working with? How am i gonna minister to them? Are they willing for God to work in their lives?God is willing. i am willing. we are a great team together!( toking bout time here ya...not as in eye sight, slight technical problem with the language,haha...)
And just to have the right vision....after God give me his glasses to adjust to His vision for these people and also my life.
Let God lead, den i follow. By following the greatest Leader, I will be a good leader myself. after all, i learn from the best! I'm not dat dum dum, am I? wahahaha...ya, God can teach this dum dum yet.
I love you, my Leader. bring it on man!
